On Thursday, the GOP members in the Senate used a procedural move to block debate and obstruct voting on a bill that would enact voting protections into Federal law. The bill would make it harder for the GOP to purge voter rolls and prevent minorities from voting. It would also standardize voting access in all states.

 

 

This week marked the 101st anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote. It was a 72-year effort that began in 1848 after the first women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY. The convention included a resolution that women should seek the right to vote. 

 

 

This week, we honor women making a difference.

 

 

 

JAC was saddened to learn of the passing Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI). Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

 

First elected to the Senate in 1978, JAC was proud to call Sen. Levin our friend. Our members always looked forward to visiting with him in Washington and hearing him address us during our annual policy conference. 

 

 

JAC is proud to endorse Shontel Brown for Congress. She is running to fill the vacated seat of Rep. Martha Fudge (OH-11), who was appointed Secretary of Housing & Human Development by President Joe Biden.

 

Shontel has expressed her strong support for Israel and will work to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship. She vehemently opposes BDS because it "seeks to weaken, isolate, and delegitimize Israel." She believes it is "also counterproductive to peacefully resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
