Meet JAC’s October Impact Candidates

October 5, 2026

Each of these candidates offer Democrats a chance to expand our map and build a majority in Congress that will make progress on the issues we care about. They are in the toughest races, where every dollar can make the difference. JAC is proud to support them. They need your help, too.

Can you make a $125 donation or more to each candidate?

Every dollar counts. These elections will have consequences.

Dr. Amish Shah, Running for AZ - 1

As an emergency room doctor for over two decades, Dr. Amish brings an essential frontline understanding of our medical system that Congress desperately needs. During his time in the Arizona State Legislature, he established himself as a highly effective leader known for working across the aisle, passing more bipartisan bills into law than any other Democrat in the state over the last decade. This race represents a crucial open-seat opportunity to swing the U.S. House, as longtime GOP incumbent David Schweikert has vacated the seat to run for governor. Dr. Amish has proven he has the grassroots engine to win this battleground; during the primary alone, he personally knocked on more than 28,000 doors to listen directly to voter concerns.

Sarah Trone Garriott, Running for IA -3

Sarah has always answered the call to serve—as a minister, mom, food bank executive, and Iowa State Senator. Now, she is running in one of the nation’s most critical battlegrounds. With control of the U.S. House hanging on a razor-thin margin, supporting Sarah protects a crucial path to a fair and working majority. As a pragmatic leader, Sarah champions what Iowa families need: accessible healthcare, mental health programs, public school funding, affordable childcare, and reproductive freedom. Sarah is a proven winner who knows how to flip tough territory. She has already flipped two Republican-held state Senate seats, including defeating a sitting GOP Senate President in a Trump-won area. Incumbent Zach Nunn is highly vulnerable after a razor-thin 2024 victory. Supporting Sarah ensures a powerhouse advocate wins a seat that will decide the future of our country.

Christina Hines, Running for MI-10

She is running for an open seat in this competitive swing district, offering Democrats a rare and excellent opportunity to turn this seat blue. As a level-headed former prosecutor and working mother, Christina has spent her career protecting children, standing up for victims, and fighting for safer communities. In Congress, she will bring much-needed accountability to Washington. She is the only candidate in her race who refuses corporate PAC money, ensuring she answers only to working families. She earned the Detroit Free Press endorsement. They said: “Hines isn’t running for Congress to be something. She wants to do some things. Christina Hines – diligent, dedicated and prepared ‒ is the obvious choice for 10th District voters.” Trump only carried the District in 2024 by one point.
