Rep.Wesley Bell is an American attorney and politician from St. Louis County, Missouri. Before entering Congress, he worked as a public defender, municipal judge, law professor, and later became St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney in 2019. In that role, he implemented criminal justice reforms and diversion programs aimed at reducing recidivism while focusing prosecution resources on violent crime. He was first elected prosecutor in 2018 after defeating a long-serving incumbent, gaining attention for his reform-oriented platform following the Ferguson protests era. In 2024, Bell ran for Congress and defeated incumbent Cori Bush in a highly competitive Democratic primary before winning the general election. In Congress, Bell serves on committees including Armed Services and Oversight and Government Reform, where he works on national security, public safety, and federal accountability issues.
