After losing his father at 19 to gun violence, Steven Horsford has been a strong proponent of gun violence prevention in Congress, empathizing with those who have experienced the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence. Horsford authored the bill to invest in community intervention programs to prevent gun violence in communities, which became law through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Law.
