Sarah Trone Garriott is a Lutheran minister, nonprofit leader, mother, and Iowa state senator who has spent her career serving communities through faith, public service, and advocacy. Before entering politics, she worked as a hospital chaplain, pastor, and interfaith-engagement leader with the Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantry Network. Elected to the Iowa Senate in 2020, she became known for her work on health care, education, human rights, and support for working families. Trone Garriott is running for Congress in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District to bring her record of community service to Washington, arguing that Iowans deserve a representative who will lower costs, protect health care, strengthen public education, support rural communities, and defend democracy and the rights of all Americans.
