Gallego previously served in Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District, including the Phoenix areas, since 2014. His military service as a Marine and deployment to Iraq motivated him to become involved in politics, serving as Chief of Staff for a Phoenix City Councilman and later in the Arizona State House. Gallego is a strong advocate for women’s reproductive rights, supports Israel in their fight against terrorism, and is notorious for his pushback against right wing extremist state legislation.
