Marni Von Wilpert
Democrat- California
Marni von Wilpert has dedicated her career to public service as an attorney, prosecutor, and elected leader. Before serving on the San Diego City Council, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana, founded a legal clinic focused on fighting discrimination, worked as a federal labor attorney, and served as counsel to the House Education and Labor Committee, where she helped strengthen workers' rights protections. As a San Diego City Councilmember, von Wilpert has focused on public safety, affordable housing, reproductive rights, gun violence prevention, and lowering costs for working families. Now running for Congress, she is seeking to flip California’s 48th District and help Democrats retake the House by advocating for workers, protecting fundamental rights, and making government more responsive to everyday families.
“I’m running to fight for the America we believe in – where workers get a fair shot, the rule of law means something, and we treat one another with dignity and decency, not cruelty and contempt.” - Marni Von Wilpert
