Rep. Katherine Marlea Clark is a Democratic politician and attorney serving as U.S. Representative from Massachusetts’ 5th District. Before Congress, she served on her local school committee, then in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Massachusetts Senate. She worked in state government roles focused on child care services and legal policy before being elected to Congress in a 2013 special election. Since then, she has become one of the most influential Democratic leaders in the House, currently serving as Minority Whip and previously holding other senior leadership positions.
