Jahna Hayes’s journey to public service is deeply personal and rooted in lived experience, having been raised in the cycle of poverty and addiction. Determined to break that cycle, she went back to school, earned multiple degrees, and spent 15 years as a history teacher. Hayes has introduced over 80 bills, co-sponsored more than 2,100, and helped pass 11 into law. Her work in Congress centers on expanding access to quality education, gun safety, supporting working families, and addressing climate change.
