Kamala Harris marks October 7th Anniversary

on the Death of Hassan Nasrallah

Hassan Nasrallah was a terrorist with American blood on his hands. Across decades, his leadership of Hezbollah destabilized the Middle East and led to the killing of countless innocent people in Lebanon, Israel, Syria, and around the world. Today, Hezbollah’s victims have a measure of justice.

I have an unwavering commitment to the security of Israel. I will always support Israel’s right to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis.

President Biden and I do not want to see conflict in the Middle East escalate into a broader regional war. We have been working on a diplomatic solution along the Israel-Lebanon border so that people can safely return home on both sides of that border. Diplomacy remains the best path forward to protect civilians and achieve lasting stability in the region.

Harris played an integral role in the most pro-Israel Democratic administration in U.S. history. By electing Kamala Harris, we will continue to have a valued and trusted friend in the White House.
She worked closely with congressional leaders to ensure the passage of the National Security Supplemental Aid package in April 2024, which provided an additional $15 billion in aid to Israel.
She has spoken regularly with President Isaac Herzog and Benny Gantz, a former member of Israel’s war cabinet.
Her record clearly reflects that she is pro-Israel and that she will continue to nurture and strengthen the iron-clad relationship from the Oval Office.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Harris had been deeply engaged in the Middle East, in trying to find a peaceful path forward.

Because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on October 7, including unspeakable sexual violence at a massacre of young people at a music festival."

Harris served as a critical voice in the fight against antisemitism.
Second Gentleman Emhoff has made combatting antisemitism his platform, serving as a powerful force for the Jewish community. During the next administration, he will continue to elevate this issue and advocate for the Jewish people. Together, they have made combatting antisemitism a top administration priority.
She has worked with the Biden Administration to take 100 actions to address the rise of antisemitism in the US, as well as over 100 calls to action for Congress and state and local government agencies.

Harris emphasizes that it remains the responsibility of Hamas to accept the proposed ceasefire deal and release the hostages still captive in Gaza. She is adamant in her continued advocacy for their release.
She has spoken out forcefully against the Hamas terrorist attack, especially regarding the sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas militants.
Harris met with the families of the American hostages in April, where she stressed the administration’s commitment to releasing all hostages.

Elan Siegel, the daughter of hostages Aviva and Keith, said Harris was ‘very warm and very dedicated to our struggle.’ She said she felt the vice president was genuinely committed to the cause and promised her ‘that she will do whatever she can to get my dad home and all the other hostages.’

Harris cares deeply about the safety of Jewish people by working to tirelessly safeguard it.
She worked with Biden to enable the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to provide greater security to Jewish institutions.
A weak democracy will endanger the Jewish people across the diaspora. When our democracy is weakened, it imperils all democracies around the globe, ultimately posing an inherent risk to those Jewish communities as well.

Harris’s values are rooted in the Jewish home she shares with her husband, Doug Emhoff, the first second gentleman in U.S. federal history. At their wedding, they smashed a glass as part of the traditional Jewish custom.
A multicultural, interfaith upbringing greatly inspired Harris. She understands and respects Jewish values in a deeply personal and introspective way that is unique to all other presidents.

He embodies Tikkun Olam in his personal and public life and will bring those principles to his role in the Harris administration.

SUPPORT HARRIS-WALZ 2024

Walz’s support for Israel is clear and unwavering. He has personally met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He ordered flags to fly at half-mast at all state buildings following the October 7th attacks to "remember, mourn, and honor the victims of the attacks on Israel by Hamas terrorists."

Walz stated, "Minnesota joins the nation in condemning the horrific acts of violence against Israeli civilians by Hamas. The United States and Israel are united by a shared commitment to democracy, economic prosperity, and regional security. We'll continue standing with Minnesota's Jewish and Israeli community and working with the State Department to ensure the safety of Minnesotans at home and abroad."

In Congress, Walz was a strong supporter of Israel and worked to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Yinam Cohen, Israel’s Consul General in the Midwest, noted that it’s “been an honor to work with Governor Walz on deepening the Israel-Minnesota partnership. Thank you… for standing with Israel during our darkest hour on Oct. 7.”

In April 2023, Walz signed three bills into law: one protecting people seeking abortion services, one banning conversion therapy, and one protecting people seeking gender-affirming health care in Minnesota.

He voiced support for a state constitutional amendment protecting abortion access and maintained Minnesota as a haven for people seeking abortion care, positioning it as an "island" surrounded by states without abortion access.

He has consistently supported choice during his time in the House, stating, "I will always protect your privacy and freedoms – and you'll never have to wonder where I stand when it comes to your fundamental rights."

Walz emphasized, "I see it as public health and the right of women to make their own decisions about their own bodies on reproductive health."

Walz stated, “We are committed to confronting hate and bias crimes and recognize that antisemitism represents a unique and millennia-old enduring hatred of Jewish people,” in a 2019 proclamation marking the first anniversary of the deadly attack at the Tree of Life synagogue.

He also said, “I think when Jewish students are telling us they feel unsafe, we need to believe them, and I do believe them.”

Walz called for strengthening Holocaust education and ethnic studies in his state’s school system.

As governor, Walz signed universal background checks into law and enacted a red-flag law. He stated, “When you come to high school, you should be worried about pop quizzes and prom dates, not mass shootings, and that's why as governor, I made it a point to move towards responsible gun ownership and take the NRA on.”
