WHAT'S ON OUR MIND
Staying Strong, Informed, and United
May 12, 2025
This past Wednesday marked our annual Power of Women luncheon—and to call it a success would be an understatement. With over 500 attendees and the powerhouse duo of Chelsea Handler and Jill Wine-Banks, the day was filled with inspiration, laughter, and purpose. In a time where we are inundated with terrifying news, executive orders, and fear for our country, Wednesday proved to be the perfect dose of positivity, community, humor, and politics. For those who weren't in attendance, one message rang clear: now more than ever, we must lead with purpose, clarity, and unity in a time of division and disinformation. We were reminded that political conversations—especially with those who hold opposing views—require a calm presence. Losing your cool doesn’t move the needle; education and responsible messaging do. Facts matter. Truth matters. And in an age where disinformation is widespread, our relationship with the truth must be unwavering. Chelsea had a powerful call to collective action: be loud, be intentional, and show up. Show up for your community, for those being targeted, for democracy. We don’t need to be famous to make an impact. We need to be informed, focused, persistent, and spread love and kindness every step of the way. This is how we build the world we want. The urgency is real. But so is our power. Our justice system, though stressed, is holding. Activism matters. Calls to representatives matter. Town halls matter. This moment demands more of us, yes—but it also asks us to protect our joy. Engage politically as much as possible, but also carve out time for happiness. That balance is what keeps us resilient. JAC is in this every day. Join us. Let’s stay grounded, stay loud, and never back down. Let’s send a clear message to Donald Trump: We are not going anywhere.
