What's On Our Mind 9-2-2022

Labor Day traditionally begins the start of the official campaign season. As summer ends and students return to school, candidates rev up for their races. It’s an all out sprint to the finish line on November 8th — and you are an important part of that effort.

This election is about our democracy and the types of freedom we will have going forward. Each one of us can play a role in helping to protect the things we care about; and none of us can afford to sit this out and let someone else do the work needed to elect our candidates.

There are only 47 days left until the election. What can you do to make sure that we elect candidates to Congress that will pass an assault weapons ban, codify Roe v Wade, make sure that our climate is protected?

Here’s What YOU Can Do:
  • Write postcards to swing state voters. Email the JAC office at info@jacpac.org and we will send you postcards for you to write from home. 75 percent of people who receive a postcard go out and vote.
  • Join a remote phone bank and help get out the vote. YES, I’m interested.
  • Grab your friends and spend an afternoon knocking on doors and talking to voters with JAC members. You will be trained to effectively do this. It’s fun a easy. YES, I’m interested.
  • Donate to one or several of JAC’s candidates (click here to donate). Our candidates need your dollars so they can get their message out to voters, fight back against their extreme opponents attacks, expand their field operation and complete their television and digital media buys.
  • Attend JAC's and HPStrong's Cocktail for a Cause Bash on Oct. 12. All proceeds will go to JAC candidates who support common sense gun laws.
  • Make sure you and your friends are registered to vote and know where to vote (click here for information).
  • Become an election day worker to help ensure that our elections are a success (click here).

Democracy takes participation. Grab your friends. Together, commit some time and make a plan to do something.

Elections have consequences.
