Candidate Spotlight 8-4-2022

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) is readying himself for one of the toughest races of his political career. He will face off with moderate GOP candidate Joe O’Dea in a state that has been trending purple. JAC has designated this as one of its top races.

Bennet has represented Colorado in the Senate since 2009. He has dedicated his Senate career to creating more opportunities for the next generation which includes protecting the environment, ending gun violence, and ensuring the legality of abortion services.

He has been a strong supporter of women’s reproductive health. He joined his Democratic colleagues in introducing the Freedom to Travel for Health Care Act. This legislation would clarify that it is illegal for anti-choice states to limit travel for reproductive health care, including abortion services.

Bennet has also been a strong advocate for common sense gun laws. He has been a driving force in enacting change since Colorado suffered two mass shootings. Bennet supported the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act after the Uvalde school shooting to improve school safety, close loopholes, and strengthen background checks. Bennet will continue to demand action and legislation for gun violence.

This race will be incredibly competitive. O’dea has already put $1.5 million of his own money into his campaign. The GOP and extremist groups will undoubtedly flood the state with attack ads aimed at Bennet while trying to attract the state’s moderate voters.

It is critical that we keep this seat and send Bennet back to the Senate. Losing this race could jeopardize our ability to enact gun reform and keep the Senate majority. We need to raise an extra $5,000 for Bennet so he can continue to be a voice on the issues you care about. DONATE HERE.

Every member of Congress from every state votes on every issue you care about.

We need Michael Bennet in the Senate. DONATE NOW.
