Why Your Support

Senator Amy Klobuchar is very strong on all of JAC’s issues. On stem cell research she says ”Minnesota is the home of the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota.  We have always been on the cutting edge of new frontiers, and stem cell research is the new frontier for research for cures.” She says that decisions about abortion should be between a woman and her doctor. She co-sponsored bills to ensure access to and funding for contraception. She has a 100% voting record on Israel, supports LGBT rights, favors Social Security and universal health care and was an advocate for President Obama’s health care reform law. Never one to back down from a fight or a good issue, Klobuchar led the way on opposition to the Iraq war, stood up for Elana Kagan during her Supreme Court hearing, took the lead to pass consumer product safety legislation and fights for middle class families.

Klobuchar's formidable intelligence, sense of humor and warmth allow her to be heard and respected in the Senate as well as with her constituents. She is always available to meet with JAC and has been a valuable ally on our issues. Klobuchar has very high approval ratings and should not have a difficult race. atpresent three candidates are in the race on the GOP side, but none of them top tier. But nothing can be taken for granted in a cycle where the majority of Americans are angry and have low opinions of the President and Congress.
