He is an expert on public opinion and energy issues. He has been a consultant to numerous political campaigns and was on the research staff of the RAND corporation, writing monographs on Latin American politics and economics. He currently serves as President of the Yiddish Institute at Vilnius (Lithuania) University, where he has won an award for his dedication to preserving Yiddish language and culture.
